About Basics First

The concept of Basics First was initiated on the whiteboard you see in this photo. The ‘doodling’ as presented on the photo was the result of the question: “What are basic elements when ‘doing the work’ in several organizations?”.

Many organizations are looking towards large consultancy firms to implement new ‘Ways of Working’, new (Agile) frameworks and methodologies and other such concepts. And while they can be successful if done right, the truth is that they can only be successful if you keep in mind which “Core Elements” are actually improving or currently harming your organization.

So what Basics First hopes to empower is people to first look at the “Core Elements” in their organization, understand them and improve them.

Don’t misread this message being “Anti-Anything”, it is definitely not. Many things can be very powerful if done correctly!
